For me fake meat is stuck in the uncanny valley. I really dislike how they want to buy us cheaply processed stuff while thinking a hint of “blood” and a feel of fibrous grist somehow adds to the experience of processed vegetables. If you want to have salty, fat, umami stuff, why not stick to fries and falafel? Food designers should stop creating a bad version of meat but instead develop varieties of veggie nuggets that do not pretend to be made from animals.
