Hey, I like Tarantino movies, too. But I don’t live in a country where intruders come to your home to rape and kill while giving you enough time to grab your gun to battle it out. Doesn’t happen.

Burglars try to steal stuff when people are not at home. In Germany you are not allowed to gun down somebody for trespassing anyway. If you shoot somebody — even in your own house — this is way out of proportion and you will face legal troubles galore. A legal act of self-defense would imply a „he had a gun but I drew first“ situation. I may have seen that movie, too.

When you see a rapist behind every corner, there is chance you’ll make a bad call some day, resulting in one of the real hooror stories that happen all the time: People who risk injury fighting with a cornered burglar. People who gun down their neighbour’s boy, because he wanted to pinch a can of beer from the garage. People who shoot a kid with a toy gun.
